Steel House Future
Members of Steel House Inc. Are working alongside the Dean of Students Office to find a piece of property on the University of Idaho campus where a new facility can be built. A fundraising campaign is in the works to solicit donors to help fund a new facility. In addition, board members are working with a grant writer to secure funding for furnishings and a new facility. Our "wish site" is located just to the south of FarmHouse. For those who are nostalgic, by standing next to FarmHouse, one can look almost directly across the street and view the original Steel House. This building has now been turned into offices.
The desire is for Steel House to have a brand new facility but we would not turn down an existing building should one open up! In keeping with the tradition of cooperative living, the entire process of the new Steel House will be student driven with assistance from various organizations associated with the University of Idaho.
